Setting layer.bgColor = null does the work for dynamically
created layers (just tested, but without dynapi) and that's the way it
is internally done in Dynapi.
A quick search on groups.google.com didn't reveal any public known
bugs in connection with this method.
Inline layers and background color are a completely different topic...
