I'm posting these stats because I've already played with DynAPI2 sites that
fail in CPU performance compatability tests. Appears we have minor cases of
FLASHitis appearing. Got to nip that in the butt ASAP!.
These are CPU installed base statisitcs as for 4Q 2000.
650+ mhz 2.5%
550-649 mhz 3.3%
450-549 mhz 18.2%
333-449 mhz 32.5%
233-332 mhz 21.4%
0-233 mhz 22.2%
So, about 43.4% of US PC users can't handle any more then ONE scaling motion
tween at a time if nothing else is going on animation wise on the page. A
recent site posted here used FOUR, we tested it on old faithfull and the
whole experience fell apart due to stuttering and mass slow down. About 40%
of the Flash sites we test at Were-Here forums fails these tests lets not
follow in their recently depricated shoes.
Go buy a dusty old PI 233 and use it.
