I'm not a core DynAPI developper, but if I look at the source code of my "out-of-date" 2.52 distro, I see that in the file "DynAPI.js", in the "removeChild" method, there's a call to the object's "specificRemove" method, that is defined in the "api/DynLayer.js", and if you look at the Netscape part of it, you'll definitely see some recycling management code. To be convinced, you should also look at the NS4 part of "specificCreate".
