We aren't talking about small functions which are executed by eval, but about large amounts of code. I can't give you specific references other than the suggestion to search for eval in groups.google.com. As far as I know, eval causes serious instability in NN4. Sometimes IE generates parser errors for perfectly valid code, and as I heard, calls to eval caused memory leaks in older versions of Dynapi.
