i know we had this discussion some time ago (cannot find the bug# right now) but nothing really happend. wouldn't it be good to add a .strict property to the useragent-object(dynapi.ua in 2.9 or "is" 2.5x) to check if mozilla/netscape6/ie6/mac ie5 is in strict mode or not since this is pretty important, for exameple when getting the browser's width and so on (in ie6 strict mode you have to use the document.documentElement.clientWidth instead of document.body) ie6 strict mode is easy to sniff for, if document.compatMode == "CSS1Compat" (i think) but mozilla didn't add the document.compatMode until a pretty recent version, didn't they? anybody who knows how to find which mode earlier mozilla is in?
any thoughts? it's pretty quiet nowadays :) /martin _______________________________________________ Dynapi-Dev mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/
