Yes, some developers said they would attempt to port 
the existing widgets to 3.0

Version 3.0 is completely different from 2.5 and is
designed to stream line more efficient use of the
available objects. It's much more slicker, slimmer and
quicker than it's predecessor. IMO I think developers
should start get into the act of using 3.0. I don't
know why I can't see a branch for it in cvs, but I
guess I'll just have to wait :(

PS. If the developers/administrators could try and
speed things up from the CVS side I'll be more that
happy to upload version 3.0 alpha 1 (2.9.2).
