That's a very cool idea.  I had played with the group manager and the
concept was neat.  I was just so focussed on getting my own widget finished
that I hadn't spent too much time thinking about combinations, but you're
right.  In fact, the more basic widgets we can add, the more interesting
combinations we can make.
