Yes I've thought about making dockable tabbed windows... Kinda like BeOS but when you group the windows together they join into a group. Also, if you look at Squeak.org, I like the concept of 'Flaps' ... wouldn't be cool if the window could be dragged into the side of the document and become a 'flap', then you can pull it out or store it away like a drawer, or drag it out onto the desktop like a window again.
