Further on international character sets:

<meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-2">
<meta http-equiv="content-style-type" content="text/css;
charset=iso-8859-2">
<meta http-equiv="content-language" content="pl">

Netscape 4.7 doesn't translate the character set in DynAPI layers. (IE
does). Netscape inserts a ? for the unread characters.
I thought I was on the right track to use inline layers (where the character
set is translated) and to retrieve the string using getHTML and then insert
it into my scrollWindow using setHTML().
 But when I call getHTML() from such a converted inline layer Netscape
returns nil, that is, e.g. an alert box is empty. IE however does return the
entire string.

Further disappointment: I today installed Netscape6, it draws my layers but
the images only after reload and nothing is 'mouse' active (I'm using the
API from Ilmaestro's site).

Blessings, Darryl.
