Looks like I'll have to "learn" java. Can anyone point me to a web site (or sites) which will tell me how to write the various code needed to make an applet that work as stated below:   This one is okay, I can do this myself>1) javascript/ASP builds the page with the "string" that the applet need to write.   These are what I need 2) Applet asks the user for permission to write to their hard drive 3) Applet askes for a file location and filename 4) Applet writes the file.     Doug Melvin Programmer/Analyst Creative-Workshop.com (613) 236-5556
