Sure...a good example is the LoadPanel widget.  A piece of code that should be 
functionally identical accross platforms, but the implementation under the hood is 
optimized for the target browser.

No arguments, DynAPI is _the_ crossbrowser DHTML API.

There are still some differences with DOM compatible
browsers that make have DynAPI worth while.

It's much easier to write apps/widgets that are
reusable with DynAPI than to use DOM!
