I saw something strange w/c is maybe what you are referring to.  When the page loads, the "controls" show up briefly on the screen (while the images are loading and the object is "painting"), and then moves up to the upper left hand corner. 
 
Maybe you could move the objects off the screen first using the moveTo(-100,-100) before adding them to the document .. then move the objects back into after the object has been added to the document.

 I think this should work, I couldn't quite see what you meant by "called by the user".
I meant the the panel(s) should stay hidden until the button links are clicked.
