Anyone can develop widgets. In fact, there are several sites around which contain
widgets. We try to keep track of all of them. When it comes to editing the API's
code, you need to become a developer, then download CVS and that's it, you can
edit the code.

In order to become a developer one of the administrators must add you to the
developers list. First go to sourceforge, create your account and then contact
any of the administrators and convince him to add you as developer :)
