The aim of this API is to support any DHTML capable browser. So far our
targets are any version of NS and IE from 4.0 and above, including Win, Mac
and Linux. Sure there are many bugs. There is not a decent compatibility
table because of a lack of time. We try our best to fix as many bugs as we
can ( and I know sometimes it looks like we don't care about a certain
browser-platform ) and we've never tried to hide any problems because
they're going to show up anyway.
Complete documentation on what does work and what does not is something
we're missing, as well as we miss almost any documentation you can thing of.
Moreover, we spend more time debugging than writing docs. Personally I know
my IBS widget set is not up-to-date with the later distribution, but I'm
trying to bugfix the API before rewriting my widgets again.
I know it is discouraging for the newby to get everything working in all
browsers, and realizing it is not that bugfree, and then there are little to
no docs/references available. Of course there could be more resources, and
there will be, but in the meantime you'll have to dedicate some of your time
to understand issues that we already know ( but haven't had the time to
document so others don't have to scratch their heads as we did ). Please be
patient. At least, with this API crossbrowsing stands a chance.
