You don't look like very kind, at all.
I am subscribed (or was subscribed) to around 20 different mail lists, and
for the first time see such attitude to people.
Somebody on the list have mentioned that there are only 5 people working on
DynAPI.
Don't want help? Strange. OpenSource is not about it.
| Sorry, but I always get VERY nervous when new people are jumping in ready
| to fix everything. I've seen this happen so many times while working on the
If you get VERY nervous, take some drugs. Especially if this happens on
regular basis. :-)
| DynAPI and those persons are long gone without completing any of there big
| ideas. How about getting your self familiar with this project first.. help
| people out (not just by telling them they should use Konquerer) submit
| patches, bug fixes, etc..
Let me clarify it first.
Your browser detection code has serious glitches.
It ignores Linux (X11) platform, and ignores Konqueror browser. (while, for
some reason, you detect Opera. Opera really lacks a lot of functionality, but
it is not the case for Konqueror)
So, what is the problem from your side to apply my patch and get Konqueror
detected? Amd, get X11 and/or Linux recognized as a platform?
// I am cc'ing Konqueror developers list, as its developers should know about
this.
Do you want me to submit patch to CVS?
Then write exactly this.
Getting account on CVS takes some time, and I think that 4-lines patch can be
submitted by somebody of key developers on list. It's just faster, that's it.
Correct me if I am wrong here.
BTW: during last 1.5 months I deconstructed approximately 400 sites (against
which were reported bugs in KDE bug system; see http://bugs.kde.org).
So, I want to fix *ONE* DynAPI library and therefor fix several sites using
it immediately. // by the way, any catalog of sites using DynAPI?
I have enough JavaScript, CSS2 and DOm knowledge to do it.
Reason why I subscribed to this list and want to help you:
because DynAPI library is written in a such way that causes problems with
many browsers. And needs to be fixed. That's it, wether you like it or not.
Yesterday I wrote that half of official examples on
http://dynapi.sourceforge.net do not work with Mozilla M18 (Nov.2000) and
Mozilla 0.7 (Jan.11 2001). They also do not work with Netscape 6 on Windows.
Do you ned more?
Tutorials on this site do not work with MS IE 5.0. ( I get "object undefinied
message")
About : "should use Konquerer"
Don't really understand what you are about.
Or you mean "Konqueror"?
Yes, this is a great browser, and I really recommend other people to give it
a try. BTW I even created web site for this.
Konqueror is very good browser to debug MS IE-specific or Netscape-specific
bugs. As DynAPI is full of such browser-specific code, Konqueror is excellent
tool to debug this library.
|
| We don't work magic, we code in freetime.. patches will eventually be
| looked at .. promissed.
That's understandable. Do you think that I wrote that patch not in "my free
time"?
