use a global value indicating the current menu.
use the onmouseover / onmouseout events to show / hide the menu.

when you show a menu, update the global value to point to the shown menu.

hiding is done by pointing to the global value indicating the active menu.  this
way, you don't have to cycle through and hide menus that are already hidden.
