Hey Ken,
The BUG is in the ns4 resize handling of DHTML
layers. Having coded lots of crossbrowser DHTML, I am
painfully aware of this. The change to DynAPI to
automatically call the recreateAll on a ns4 resize is
a definite positive step in creating crossbrowser
compatibility. We just have to adjust to the code a
little ( you would have eventually had to do this
anyway to get compatible with ns4 in writing your own
onresize code for it).
As to the use of the css attributes, while it would
indeed save creating layers, you will find that your
compatibility with all but the latest browsers will
suffer. It would be an intersting experiment though.
Keep in mind I am not an expert, maybe they will give
you a more favorable response. I am starting to feel
like the problems with the use of ns6 will have to be
solved in the browser itself. It is great for its
suport of the dom, but it suffers under execution of
code somehow. If you made your css changes specific
to only the latest browsers, it might help though
(reduce the amount of code nn6 has to sift through).
IMHO
Cheers,
