This has been the main problem with loadpanel, it dies when fired with
requests, I don't know why, but  this seems to be hard to fix.
Of course, to limit the problem you could alternately show/hide 2 loadpanels
which shared the load.

MP's java based loader is another option, but I understand, no Mac or NS6
support, or am I wrong?

The hidden frame loading system is another option, search the archives for
Jordi's posts last week.
