thanks richard, that's exactly what I need.   um, I hate to tell you this, but the 5 round things on the screen don't move to right place when I resize the browser. I'm using IE 5.5. It's fine when I load the page in a non-maximised window, then I maximise the window and they're in the wrong place. If you change the size of the browser window, the image stays in the same place. What I want to do is a mouseover effect which drops a layer out of the bottom of the image.   How can I work out at load time where to position the layer?
