in e-commerce sites you want light-weight and wide support.
DynAPI's main asset is power, but it's not light-weight, and doesn't support
opera.
Have a look at this:

There is an API - total around 1k in size, supports all browsers.
Much less powerful than DynAPI, but fine for most uses.
