If your going to output any file types you want to be read on a
Macintosh I suggest the following formats:

PDF - as mentioned earlier
RTF - TextEdit under Mac OS X can read this.
AppleWorks - AppleWorks can read dozens of other Mac and PC documents,
but has its own structure.
Microsoft Word - For Office 2000 on the Mac.

Pretty much any file can be read by a Macintosh, even those from PC
programs.

PS: Word Perfect is REALLY old, I would concentrate on MS Word format if
I were you. That way both Mac and PC users can read it. Also, Claris was
a wholly (Hole - ee) owned subsidiary of Apple but has since been
re-absorbed into Apple and is NOT owned by MS. However several Ex-Claris
employees now work in MS's Mac business unit.
