I'm not entirely sure what you mean by this ;-) > to hear of a way around form elements I'll give that one a try. I've attached a screen grab of a project I'm working on (unless this mailing list strips attachments) .. this was using a Mozilla build from December last year BTW. The panel at the top is a layer, where it says "ced Search" is another, the checkboxes you can just about see are on a child layer attached to "ced Search" while the drop downs on the extreme left are in "ced Search" (is this making sense?? ;-) Notice the scroll bar artefact from the multiple select .. yet the single select drop downs are clipped properly. At the top right there's another layer, where it says "2000 Audi", notice the disembodied "Quick Search" graphic, that's actually a Java applet on the layer beneath, yet the drop downs are clipped again. Hehe .. I just read through that and it sort of makes sense to me, but probably won't make any sense at all to anybody else. If you want to see the thing in action, go to http://www.ottaky.com/javasearch.php NB: use Internet Explorer if you can, there are some issues with Netscape and slow connections. You'll need Java enabled. This is a work in progress so some things don't work at all, or don't work properly, but at least you can see the layers in action. Anyway, it might help demo a way of clipping form controls if nothing else ;-) sjb
