warning fix: false positive maybe uninitialized
gcc 12 reports a diagnostic for a maybe uninitialized value when
boost::option::value_or is called on an optional that has no
value, even though this is safe
- add a diagnostic suppression macro for this warning and use it
to suppress the warning
