Hey, I can only do so much, so fast. =P Unfortunately,
I only have access to Irix machines at work (with sound),
so porting to other platforms will require outside help.
Want to help port esd? The audio driver is very platform
dependent, but should only require implementing a handful
of functions on the server side (all in audio.c). Some
different-endian data handling code needs to be worked in
as well, but (hopefully) the architecture of the server
should handle those modifications without too much torture.
Blah blah typical porting problems woof woof, etc.
I don't think E *requires* esd, but the compilation process
probably hasn't taken that into account, yet.
