AIX doesn't have X11R6 with it natively until 4.3.x
You should be able to grab X11R6 for earlier versions of AIX from:
ftp://aixpdslib.seas.ucla.edu/pub/X11R6.1

I have not had success with E14 at AIX 4.3.1 yet. Still pluggin away at
it though. I'm having a fug-lee time getting gcc or egcs to work with
AIX's collect2 :( anyone having any experience with that is welcome to
email me :)
