Hola Jim! Interesting, terrific idea to put an egold ad on that
site. But, like, I buy 10s of thousands of dollars of banner ads for
clients (like, probably $150 thou this year -- i have my own rep at
doubleclick! <: ) and $1000 (WAS THAT A TYPO?!?) is totally
ridiculous price for an ad on that page (and no one likes BOGGS more
than me)

Again, that is just a silly price. Realize you can get

        ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY THOUSAND

impressions anywhere you want for that much money, easy.

Definitely, it would be a cool place for an e-gold advert. But a
realistic price for a site like that would be say $125 for one year
.. say $150 to be ultra generous to the art world.

A totally normal pricing scheme for a site like that would be say
$100 per banner (for a year), and the site operator would hope to
have 4 or 5 or a half dozen such sponsors ... thus bringing in 4 or 5
hundred bucks per year.

Example, a client of mine has a site that gets 300 (THREE HUNDRED)
thousand views per week --- *AND* it is a specialist site that people
from one industry look at. AND they have TWO banners on the front
page. How much money do they get for their banner spaces? One of the
wholesalers buys the whole lot for $750 dollars per week. (And the
wholesaler only makes about 50% marking it up)

On top of al that, the price of banner ads is totally plummeting.
No-one can renew their contracts and all the reps are calling all day
offering like SIXTY PERCENT discounts and so on

Again, great idea but that price is absurd, nutty !

Great idea: price is out of whack.

JP!
