I am glad to see you avoided the American Pure Trust Scam.  I am not sure it
would be such a problem for a non-US resident, but for a US Resident it is
an absolute disaster.

Normally, when the IRS discovers certain irregularities, they simply want
their money (with interest and penalties).  But in regards to the American
Pure Trust, they arrest you, prosecute you, put you in jail upon conviction
(a very easy thing as the Pure Trust is so poorly constructed), and then
they start looking to collect.

Wise move.
