Good idea, but you know Ken, there's no need for such an extreme
measure to achieve non-sequential numbers --- one idea is to simply
choose random (say 7 digit) account numbers to achieve that.
Also, GoldMoney have solved this problem in spades ... account
numebrs have a hash at the end.
So, my personal GoldMoney account is 500642-E .. note the "E"
(please test spending to that account on GoldMoney!) Bananagold's is
500723U
If you typed '500643' by mistake instead of '500642', it is quite
unlikely you would also accidentally type the matching letter
(whatever it is) for 500642 .. see ??
I have RIPPED-OFF this idea for 1mdc-grams ----- 1mdc-grams accounts
are identified by both your e-gold(r) account number ****and**** your
initials.
So, if you were spending to me, you would need to know and use that I am
241164
jpm
That's how the spend form works, it says
Account Number:
Initials:
Grams:
Spend!
I am 241164 jpm, Interesting Software Ltd is 40040 isl and so on.
You would be 123666 kg. (Great initials, by the way!) Bananagold
might be 402402 bg.
(In fact, the first spend has been made in the 1mdc-grams system
https://www.1mdc.com/examples/firstspend.gif
there is a set of screen shots.
The 1mdc-grams system will be open for biz in a couple days.)
(Actually here's the SCI doco for 1mdc-grams if that is relevant to anyone
https://www.1mdc.com/sci.html
[Note -- Jay has very modestly explained to me that it would be
inappropriate to use the term "a Wherley" as another gentleman kicked
off that process!] )
Oh yeah - also, mentioning PGP, 1mdc-grams will probbably collect
users PGP keys -- in that way when you get your account statement,
robot mail etc by email it will be PGP'd.
