Unfortunatly, both of these options require me going to the bank or the
post office. I go to the post office less often than I go to the bank.
I fully understand the advantages of e-gold, or any online currency (I
know e-gold is not a currency, but as far as most users are concerned, it
doesn't really matter) both for the user/customer and the vendor. And for
that reason, I have been willing to go the extra lengths to aquire some.
But, for the average internet user, looking for instant satisfaction (and
you must all know, that is who e-gold must attract if it is ever to be a
real success) the delays and obsticles are just too difficult. The user
will find an easier way to do what he wants, and find another vendor that
accepts credit cards, or whatever.

This is great, once I have decided that I want to use e-gold. But, it
needs to be much easier for the first-time user. For example, say I was to
set up an online casino that accepts e-gold. TheGoldCasino.com does this,
and is probably doing quite well, but only with people who already
understand the value of e-gold. I could set up the best games around (TGC
games are nice, but they are definatly not the best out there. Check out
WWW.Bellagio.com) and advertise the heck out of the site, but if a user
came along, and saw that they needed to fund an e-gold account to play my
games, they would probably not go through the time or effort.
Unfortunatly, I don't have an answer. If I did, I'd implement it, and make
a few bucks. But, that as I see it, is currently the biggest impediance to
e-golds success.
Mark
P.S. I just checked my e-gold account, and my $20 USD is still not
there. This is not a complaint to the market maker I used, but does
illistrate the frustration I, and many other new users, am feeling.
