I think it's a very smart idea. Telephone minutes can be thought
of as a currency, and since almost everyone uses/wants them at
some point they're useful if seen that way.

I STILL want to someday pay my phone bill using my phone, so it
might be shocking to me that no phone company executive sees
how cool http://pcs.e-gold.com/demo.html  is -- except I've kept up
with how telcos have been hemorrhaging their investors' and/or 
shareholders' money. Nothing surprises me now...
