Hmmm, my first foray on the internet was with eBay, which I found quite by accident, when I was looking for an artist friend called Jos Kivits, who just happened to be trying eBay to sell his paintings... I nearly ended up with a cheap painting, but someone sniped me. Duh!
http://www.kivits.com/jos.html (Hi Jos!) In any case, I thought HE owned eBay, and I was intrigued, and starting selling stuff. Very soon I was making $5k a month part time, selling diamonds, (MM! Remember all those gorgeous diamonds I used to bring into work? MOSTLY doubled my investment!) and gold coins, and stuff... my best purchase at Yahoo auction site was an old fob watch, which had been in a fire. I paid USD $6 for it. It turned out to be a repairable "minute repeater", worth roughly USD $1500!! I ended up with a bunch of collectable items, plus a bunch of junk as well. (Good junk, but don't ask my wife about it!) Another good buy was a diamond brooch, paid AUD $900 for it, sold it for $2000. (I actually wanted $3000! Valuation papers said $6000) (Thanks Bron!) A fairly good money spinner was the Vangelis CD called "Cosmos"... I sold heaps of those in the US, bought them in South Africa,($20) and sold 'em in the US ($50-$150). I was living in Australia at the time. One of my purchasers is on this list, and he INTRODUCED me to e-gold (why would ANYBODY wanna accept make believe GOLD, in place of the greenback!!!) In any case, he wanted to pay for his purchase by e-gold, and I initially told him to take a hike. Anyway, I thought about it overnight, and in the morning, I emailed him, and said I'd accept his funny munney! And so it went on from there... BTW, I win 98% of the eBay auctions I bid on. I use www.esnipe.com , GREAT service, IF you can handle the thought of giving them access to your eBay password. In any case, after 100's of successful wins, I'm confident they are honest, and are not out to scam folks! ... and while we are talking about eBay, all you christians on this list can bid on my Dake's Study Bible that I'm selling on eBay, right now! :) http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1483848147 Tell me what you think of my photography! And YES, I always sell an item with a PICTURE. You get more $$$!!! Also, I worked hard to get the feedback rating I have. I used that rating in the early days of GoldNow to convince people to pay me for gold, and I still use that rating when I need it. Thats why I continue to buy and sell on eBay... so I can continue to build a reputation for being honest. Cheers!
