This is not true at all. New mines are not being developed everyday. The price of gold is too low for that. In fact, mine production is likely to drop by 20% in the next 5-7 years because of low gold prices. But this doesn't matter at all for GBCs and DGCs. There is no difference for these currencies if their gold reserves are made of 100 bars worth each $120K or 50 bars worth each $240K.
