It's pretty simple really, the recipient sets up a busking hat (actually just a properly formatted text file linked through a hat graphic) on his website, containing a list of payment methods (including E-Gold): http://buskpay.com/busking/
The donor installs BuskPledge, the main client software for Buskpay: http://buskpay.com/buskpledge/ The donor clicks on the hat, and enters his pledge, in a process which takes about 2 seconds. Later on, when the donor has a lot of pledges to pay off, he runs BuskPledge in edit mode, looks over his pledges and make any changes he wants, outputs them to a file, then loads that file into MEFT: http://buskpay.com/meft/ After the donor fills out his account data and password, MEFT pays out all of the pledges in a fully-automated process. BTW, if anyone is willing to set up a hat on their website immediately, please let me know by direct email. I'd really like to test MEFT "in the wild" so to speak. There's not really any money in it, I would only send a few cents for the test, but I would appreciate it, and if I have to refer anyone else who wants to test it out, I'll send them to the same sites. Source code is in the public domain, if anyone wants it: http://www.boswa.com/buskware/buskpay/ Note that Buskpay doesn't only work with E-Gold. With the current client software, it also works as a unified interface to PayPal and Amazon Honor System as well, so if you want to collect donations, you won't be turning anyone away. That's just the stuff that works today, it's a completely open and flexible system, so anyone can add new services or software, and it can absorb new payment methods easily. In particular, it was designed to be publicly tracked, to enable more efficient methods of donation delivery (I consider the tracking to be a benefit even if everybody accepted E-Gold and the primary service of consolidating many small donations into a few large ones to send cheques or other more conventional payments was not needed): http://buskpay.com/collectors/consolidators.html All of my work on the Buskpay system is in the public domain, written in the hope of attracting donations through that system. So you can use it for whatever you like.
