Jesus Christ, you've read that? What a LEGEND, RAH!!!!!!!!!!! He calls them "gAu." As in "He pulled a handful of gAu notes out of his cashbox and shoved them at the boy." That looks great in print, but I dunno if it's the best thing to say with your mouth. If I'm not mistaken, at other points in _Across Realtime_ characters just say "grams" in dialogue .. I'm not sure though. Actually "gee ay you" probably IS the best name! gAu. I doubt it can be improved on if that's what Vinge says.
