There have been invalid access attempts on all my e-gold a/cs, today
and yesterday. The higher the a/c #, the later the attempt. (Fortunately,
nothing stolen.)

Several people on another list have reported similar hacking attempts.

This suggests that someone has written a program to automatically
attempt to access each e-gold a/c in turn, probably using the same
password, with the hope that someone is using that password. (It's
relatively easy to write such a program.)

If so, the thief can continue endlessly checking all e-gold a/cs for
particular passwords.

It's probably wise to make passwords long and complex.
