Happy New Year to you all from the marketing department of Fidex, now that we're back
to work and caught up. (Of course regular transactions continued to be handled by our
automated systems and admin department over the holidays, while I was stuffing myself
on Italian food and wine on the pretext of setting up our Eurogiro arrangements in
Italy...).

Our Eurogiro system is therefore a little behind schedule but if anybody wants to
deposit funds into e-gold or Fidex Maestro accounts using Eurogiro (the Post Office
giro system) please email me for details. The cost of each transfer should be just a
few Euros, as opposed to the outrageous SWIFT charges imposed by most banks. It will
be operated by a subsidiary company we have already set up in Italy and as such we can
also provide VAT invoices for our services if required by clients within the European
Union. Moneygram is represented by the Italian BancaPoste and so joins Western Union
for express cash transfers accepted by Fidex. We only accept these by individual
arrangement... in other words email first.

Of course 2002 means Euros are added to the list of forty-odd currencies we deal in
cash, which already includes everything from Indonesian Rupees to Scottish Pounds. If
you want to bypass the Euro stage and convert your DEM, FRF, ESP etc directly into
Gold, we plan to accept those currencies until January 2020 at least for in-exchanges,
but I wouldn't recommend waiting until then...

Several people asked us if we plan to offer the Latvian ATM anonymous debit cards. The
answer is no, not at the moment. I think Frank of Euro Gold Line and several other MMs
are doing a first class job there already. But I would remind you all that our $20
(yes just $20) offshore Maestro card (no it's not Latvian, it hails from somewhere
MUCH warmer called St Vincent and the Grenadines, country code VG) is the ONLY one
which allows you to spend your e-gold dollar for dollar without paying odd percentages
here and there. If you have $200 in e-gold you can transfer it to a Fidex debit card
and go spend $200 in a store. Of course not all services come for free, but those two
particular ones do. Depositing e-gold to your debit card is free, and spending money
at merchants is free with Fidex cards. The only concession is that they are not
anonymous, you must fax us an ID and have your name printed on the card. Big deal,
huh? Of course all account details are still offshore and top secret.

Probably our most exciting innovation for 2002 is still in the pipeline: the **FIDEX
PRIVACY ACCOUNT**. This will be a package deal of an offshore (Panama) company with
bearer ownership plus a ready made multicurrency forex account which lets you buy and
sell digital and fiat currencies, send and receive wire transfers, cheques etc all in
the name of the offshore company, thereby guarding your online identity. The total
cost is just $600, an unheard of price bearing in mind you can use this company for
other online activities, for example opening merchant accounts for your web
business!!! If you are interested, let me know now by email and we will have a special
little surprise in store for you to thank you for being one of our first PRIVACY
ACCOUNT holders!

Finally for now I think we will be the only market maker with a local walk-in deposit
facility in VANUATU, country code VU. Any e-gold users over there? Our account there
goes live in the next few weeks. It will probably be more useful for our Aussie and
Kiwi and Hong Kong business clients as it will offer low-cost clearing of domestic
cheques from those places, also in bulk so businesses can totally replace their bank
accounts with an e-gold account. And no, I haven't been there yet...
