Dear Group Morgan, I wonder if (a) badTransB worm keylogged a few million computers, and (b) the FBI got its hands on the resulting files, and (c) these robot attacks began shortly thereafter, and (d) some accounts have been gotten into by the robotic attacks...
...then might these events be in some way related? Just a thought. The germ of my idea was: why bother to write a 'bot to attempt logins over and over unless you had a list of passphrases that you thought might be valid for e-gold accounts? Who would be motivated to just mess with e-gold? Perhaps the same sort of creep who wrote badTransB, perhaps fedgoons, and perhaps someone who wants to dissuade people from using e-gold (e.g., Federal Reserve types). Speculation is just speculation, and should not be taken as advice or a recommendation. As for a flight to quality, anyone who seeks to remove their gold from e-gold to GoldMoney might like the automated interface at http://www.Cambist.net/ In a few days I hope to announce here that our balances are much higher to permit larger transfers. With respect to Claude's comment that there are no competitors to e-gold and GoldMoney, I would not agree. I think e-Bullion, 1mdc fastgrams, and 3PGold all have points in their favor. For my own part, as an individual, I hold some 3PGold and enjoy not paying any "storage fee." I have also found similar good results from my 1mdc term lodgement. Cambist.net software is being upgraded as fast as we can prompt the coders to include e-Bullion, 1mdc fastgrams, and 3PGold automated transfers, not necessarily in that order. We also offer a variety of other transfer services in manual form, including: e-gold <--> GoldMoney transfers too large for our automated system to swallow 3PGold, e-bullion, 1mdc, e-gold, GM transfers among these DGCs DGCs -> Western Union quickly done DGCs -> Yahoo PayDir preferred DGCs -> c2it, PayPal able Wire <-> DGCs either way Check <-> DGCs any time These are not yet automated, but we're working on 'em. We are also researching Standard Reserve, Pecunix, and evocash which we may wish to involve ourselves in, soon. We may look into OSGold later on. Thus far, we have not become motivated to accept credit cards, although we do, for the right customer, accept Yahoo Pay Direct, in some instances. Well, gosh, that drifted off the subject heading a bit, huh?
