If I may make a comparison, the Fidex debit card has ZERO transaction fees
whatsoever if you move money from e-gold to the card, then spend it in a
merchant. It's also a Maestro card which is valid worldwide, unlike the
E-Bullion debit card. And you don't need to use cambist.net (sorry!) to
change your e-gold for e-bullion first.
Unfortunately it is not yet technically possible, because of the way banking
systems work, to move money in real time from e-gold onto the card. But it
should only take about 24-48 hours in usual circumstances.
As for expressing things in dollars, that suits most people best at the
moment but we can also issue cards in Euros.
