I disagree.  <snip>.  With one big DGC, it would be much
easier for government to regulate it. <snip>

I must say I agree with Ragnar,

reducing all the DGCs to one  creates:

1) A monopoly  where by we lose our freedom of choice in the matter of what
DGC we would like to use.
2) Increase  the cost as there is no competition to keep prices at a
reasonable level.
3) Reduces the quality of service , again through lack of competition.
4) A situation whereby it is easier to impose controls and regulations on
the industry from outside defeating one of the prime purposes of having DGCs
in the first place.
