heh :) >They seem to be quite expensive. 200 grams is approx $2,000 no? That's just a cheap little plastic PC - what does one do with a screen that small? Does it even run unix? I don't think the computer you reference above even has for example firewire? s-video? THX?? the apple's made of *titanium*, for god's sake...the DVD is slot loading. the lid magnetically locks to the base when you close it, its universallly regarded as one of the most beuatiful and significant pieces of industrial design of today the speakers in the apple would have cost more than all the components in the compaq at wholesale, hell, the glorious machined stainless steel *power knob* on the apple would have cost more! (I'm reminded of the beautiful machined stainless steel, bolted, fuel-cap-fitting on those Audi TTs) The second hand one has full 802.11b wireless networking and the base station -- sit anywhere around your house and be online at 10 mbs Yes, as you say apples are tremendously expensive ... There are definitely good-quality -- i.e., expensive -- PCs made (maybe the Sony ones? I've no idea), but nothing even vaguely in the price league of Apple. The build quality difference is like comparing a 2002 mercedes benz to a plastic toy http://www.maccustomise.com/featured/appledesignhistory/images/tibook.gif Anyway, most companies that have anything to do with security, like mine, are banned from using PCs anyway. Getting trojaned or hacked sucks :O In any event, this is off topic I guess, George rocks! gold barter rocks! http://www.goldbarter.com/viewauction.jsp?id=123 --- You are currently subscribed to e-gold-list as: [email protected] To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Use e-gold's Secure Randomized Keyboard (SRK) when accessing your e-gold account(s) via the web and shopping cart interfaces to help thwart keystroke loggers and common viruses.
