Of course we're all just guessing. But we do know this: Balance sheet (gold only): Assets: 1,952,954.93 Liabilities: 1,933,849.01 Equity: 19,105.92 This is not just a guess -- it's tautologically true. The extra 19,105.92 gg are in fact equity, and are not liabilities to e-gold account holders. The problem with tautologies is that they don't really tell you any new information. But at least they're true. :-) Of course, the interesting question is: whose balance sheet is this? JD says it's the balance sheet for e-gold, Ltd. That makes sense, because the User Agreement says the Issuer has an "obligation to back all e-metal with (at least) 100% reserve of physical metal," and the Agreement defines "Issuer" as "e-gold, Ltd." So JP is really asking this question: "Why does e-gold, Ltd. have equity in the amount of 19,105.92 gg?" I really don't know. I guess there are lots of ways to accumulate equity. -- Patrick --- You are currently subscribed to e-gold-list as: [email protected] To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Use e-gold's Secure Randomized Keyboard (SRK) when accessing your e-gold account(s) via the web and shopping cart interfaces to help thwart keystroke loggers and common viruses.
