Very interesting. Human psychology is a deep subject.
But in any case, keeping the PIK on a printed piece of paper can be safe. Even if you logged in at an Internet cafe and then like an idiot left the piece of paper on the table when you left, it would still be difficult for anyone to use it because they wouldn't have your account id.
