Dear EB, There are plenty of banks in Panama. You might like to contact your favorite local bank wherever you are and ask them about their banking in Panama. For example, Wells Fargo's web site indicates they have 17 locations in Panama.
Paying a fee to be introduced to a bank in Panama is probably going down the wrong path. You might well be introduced to a bank that is just a scam of some sort, and lose your deposit as well as the intro fee. Scotiabank, which has treated one of our associates poorly, is the only Canadian bank in Panama. I found their page by searching for +"online banking" +Panama on http://www.google.com/ Really, it all depends on what you want in a bank. Over the years, I've had lots of reasons not to like Barclays.
