We usually use 'special dates' to offer budget deals when there is some leftover space on a server [we generally only host 200 sites per machine and if a machine has 180 on it and it happens to be Christmas or something...]. Actually the thingy with DNS fluids is an old hoster/admin joke [despite the fact that the juice really exists as well] from the time when IP addressing got the domain name system plugged on top and involves female relations, bad wiring and poorly written code.
