Very good comment. There is a book called "StrikingitRich.Com: Profiles of 23 Incredibly Successful Websites You've Probably Never Heard Of" by Jaclyn Easton. Three of my clients are in the book. But my favorite is Todd Mogren of Coastal Tool, who says their site is UGLY, but functional - 2 clicks to find; 3 clicks to buy.[1] If it works, why fix it? Many people don't particularly surf the web to look at nice graphics and I for one prefer tv or video for movies and entertainment.
These sites with the whirling globes, and flashing gold bars and other such stuff make me dizzy. Content Rules!
