Dear Friends, As some of you know, one of my other callings in life is to lead a space community group called the Houston Space Society.
First, I'd like to recognize that a tremendous loss of life happened yesterday when seven astronauts were suddenly immolated during their attempted re-entry. Second, I'd like to point out that this issue relates to money. The _Columbia_ disaster yesterday and the _Challenger_ disaster before it, as well as the deaths from the _Apollo_ fire and the numerous deaths of technicians and workers on the ground at NASA have all resulted from decidedly bad space economic policy. A free market approach to space transportation would have been a better policy to implement. I'm sure that while Jim Ray might agree, he also wants to limit how much we talk about space stuff outside the context of money. However, I felt this list's participants would want to acknowledge that the shuttle disaster is a sad event. If you want a different forum for discussing space stuff, try: [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://groups.yahoo.com/group/shuttledowntalk Thanks.
