Well, it has the "bearer" kind of features that make the privacy-nuts go wild, and it's based on a really-smart guy's work, and it's open- source. It's just interesting to me, and IMO worthy of support! This brings up the point that I really want open-source software projects to accept e-gold donations, it's a good thing in a number of ways. >What is the benefit of the inability of the issuer to know the code of the >currency? >What are the risks? > Oh, golly, HUGE debate on that one, like asking "what operating system should you use?" Your answer depends on who you ask!! Anyway, to the extent that currency is cryptography (which it isn't, but ok) there's a theory that an attacker should be able to know the source and still not break the system as long as he does not have the key, so a bit of that may apply. IMO! >I was looking into Lucre and thought of using it. Different people will want different levels of privacy for different activities (let flowers bloom!) (Hey, if you like privacy, give some e-gold to EFF, NOW!) >Any comments? Am I missing something? > No, my only comment is I'm glad you run an escrow service, you're going to be my suggestion for sure (but I still want escrow.com to take e-gold!).
