Not suprisingly, the idea is a little hard to sell, but it has a snowball effect. There are currently just over a dozen merchants in my local area that will accept the ALD for goods and services, in addition to myself. The first one popped up about six months ago, and the rest just keep getting in line one after another. It is a fascinating thing, to talk with someone about the ALD, make it 100% clear that they cannot currently deposit it into any bank or pay most of their bills with it, then have them accept it anyway because of the soundness of the idea and the beauty of the currency.
[Aside to Bernard -- I know you don't like the ALD being called 'currency' or 'coins.' Not my problem what NORFED chooses to do RE USC 186 and other silly laws. It's currency. And coins. Pfpht.]
