They don't want to think that they are paying any fee, but the fee for credit card use is built into the price. Do you remember when gas stations had two prices, one for credit, and a lower one for cash? People were upset about the two tiered pricing structure and wanted one price. So the gas stations switched to one price, and the customer was happy; no more higher price if I want to use my credit card, right? Wrong. That said, the credit vs. e-gold issue is a bit different. If people think they are paying a fee to use e-gold relative to using their credit card, then perhaps given e-gold's non-repudiation and cost savings merchants could offer a discount if you pay by e-gold, and make the apparent "cost" of using either system equal. - John Kyle --- http://cambist.net --- You are currently subscribed to e-gold-list as: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Use e-gold's Secure Randomized Keyboard (SRK) when accessing your e-gold account(s) via the web and shopping cart interfaces to help thwart keystroke loggers and common viruses.
