So there is no conceivable value in a brokerage.
Sure there is. A brokerage with a 1mdc account could credit me on the spot, place my order on the spot, and i might have boght 20 shares and sold 18 of them at a profit before the guy at the trading desk checked his e-gold account once ;o)
Robert, that is just a convenient advantage. If DBourse happened to add instant deposits (or if the help desk always responded within say 1 second) you would have the same thing.
There is no structural difference.
You understand that brokerages, CONCEPTUALLY, on popular stock markets are an inherent function, you need them because brokerages and indeed only brokerages can buy and sell the actual shares (on the island or ecn system).
That is all blown away by dbourse where anyone can "be a broker" Observe that regular humans are buying the actual IPO, one at a time! No underwriting!!!!!

It would be nice if they automated things a bit more. sci.e-gold.com reveals http://101574-AUG100.e-gold.com is a simple way to pay
me 100 grams, for example. I'm sure they'll get to it, and I'm curious about another thing. How did you do the bids for 85grams? Did you have to spend 85 grams to DBourse first, JP? Thanks.
Really? As a shareholder I don't want them spending A SOLITARY CENT unnecessarily!
Yes, ISL's account is well funded (as opposed to my personal account) - those two bids for 85 are from ISL! Try creating a coupe of bids (with no money in your account), it says "not enough funds"
